Sharon Gilmore

Richland Parish Chamber of Commerce
Office of State Representative Francis Thompson

Sharon Gilmore is a Legislative Aide for House District 19 for Representative Francis Thompson with the Louisiana House of Representatives. Previously, she was with the Louisiana Senate District 34 for then Senator Francis Thompson. In her thirteen years as a Legislative Aide, Sharon spends her professional time serving the constituents of the District, assisting with drafting legislation, assisting with various constituent services, and working to secure funding for projects across Northeast Louisiana.

Sharon also serves on the Richland Parish Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and is president of the newly formed Richland Revitalization Board where she leads in efforts to secure funding for historic preservation efforts of the Parish’s downtown districts and coordinates community events and fundraisers.

Sharon earned her Bachelor’s degree from Northeast Louisiana University (ULM) in 1994 majoring in Merchandising with an emphasis in Marketing and Interior Design. Since that time, she and her husband of 34 years, Donald Gilmore, have served in youth and children ministries including choir, bell choir, creative movement, drama and puppetry.

When she is not in the District Office, you can find Sharon spending time in her garden, decorating homes, event and wedding planning, volunteering with community events, and singing with the FBC Rayville Praise Team and choir, where she is a member. Her greatest joy, however, comes from spending time with her growing family and loves cooking large meals for family gatherings.
