LAKE PROVIDENCE, Louisiana – Grow NELA, the regional economic development authority for Northeast Louisiana, announced today that MacroSource will spend nearly $14 Million to rebuild and grow in East Carroll Parish, Louisiana.
MacroSource is one of the largest, most influential, wholesale distribution companies for bulk dry and liquid fertilizers. The Lake Providence facility was largely destroyed due to severe weather in 2023. This investment will be used to rebuild the facility, as well as investments in new equipment and technology.
“There are a large number of regional customers that depend on MacroSource for their fertilizer needs, and we are grateful the company has chosen to reinvest in Northeast Louisiana,” said Rob Cleveland, President & CEO of Grow NELA. “This project would not have been possible without the support of the East Carroll Police Jury, and the State of Louisiana. This investment, and the creation of new jobs, is critical for future growth of East Carroll Parish.”
MacroSource’s investment was supported by the East Carroll Police Jury, which approved a 10-year PILOT agreement that provides an 80% abatement of ad valorum taxes. In addition, MacroSource has committed to adding an additional five full-time employees, with an average annual salary of over $65,000.
