Monty B. Adams, Sr. is a distinguished banking executive with over five decades of experience in the financial services industry. Currently, he serves as CEO of Caldwell Holding Company, Caldwell Bank & Trust Company, and Citizens Progressive Bank, where he focuses on driving growth and operational excellence. From 1991 to 2023, he also held the title of President alongside his role as Chief Executive Officer of Caldwell Holding Company, Inc., guiding the organization with strategic vision.
Monty began his career in 1970 at First National Bank of West Monroe, laying the foundation for a lifelong commitment to community banking. He advanced to Vice President at Caldwell Bank & Trust Company in 1977 before assuming the roles of President and CEO in 1991. Under his leadership, Caldwell Bank & Trust expanded its services and community impact, solidifying its reputation as a trusted financial institution.
Monty’s commitment to professional development includes earning a Bachelor of Arts in Business with a Pre-Law option from the University of Louisiana at Monroe in 1969. He further honed his expertise by graduating from the School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University in 1978.
Beyond his professional achievements, Monty is deeply involved in civic and trade organizations. He has served on the boards of the Louisiana Bankers Association and Community Bankers of Louisiana, contributing to the advancement of the banking industry. A dedicated community leader, Monty has been an active member of the Caldwell Parish Industrial Board for over 25 years, currently serving as its President. His leadership extends to the Northeast Louisiana Economic Alliance, where he serves as Secretary-Treasurer on the Executive Committee.
Monty’s passion for community service is reflected in his involvement with organizations such as the Caldwell Chamber of Commerce, Caldwell Lions Club, and Louisiana Main Street. He also holds long-standing positions on the boards of the Columbia Heights Water and Sewerage Districts.
A native of Caldwell Parish, Monty remains committed to the region where he and his wife have raised their family. He is a Deacon at First Baptist Church of Columbia and a Notary Public.
